Timeline

  • 1947: Company formed and then offices established in Overstone Road, Northampton
  • 1965: Turnover reaches £50,000
  • 1965: Philip Stanton, father of current Chairman Mike Stanton, joins the business
  • 1983: Mike Stanton joins the board as Head of Finance, Sales & Marketing
  • 1983: Eric Champion becomes Chairman after death of Philip Stanton
  • 1983: Turnover reaches £4million
  • 1996: Turnover reaches £25million
  • 1996: Mike Stanton takes over as Chairman on the retirement of Eric Champion
  • 2001: Turnover reaches £50m
  • 2002: Briggs & Forrester maintenance arm re-launched as Combined Energy Solutions
  • 2004: 'Mechanical' & 'Electrical' businesses merge to form Engineering Services Ltd and Special Projects Ltd
  • 2006: Turnover reaches £95million
  • 2006: Senior management buy-in: 25% of shares purchased by senior management to give the company fresh impetus.
  • 2007: Company celebrates 60th Anniversary by raising over £10,000 for charity
  • 2007: Turnover exceeds £100m
